Accountability.

Let’s take a few moments today to talk about accountability. We have people wanting to assess blame for the pandemic and the death toll and in many cases it’s about attributing it to the Federal government because the President is just plain evil!

Well, before we run off on that flight of fancy, we should really be taking a look at some of the actions and statements of local leaders.

In New York, Governor Cuomo has been getting high marks for his response. This is fascinating to me because aside from his chance to have eyes riveted on him at daily briefings he’s screwed the pooch in so many ways. Some ways, he’s done a good job but others? His decisions have led to increased numbers of deaths and it’s not even a question anymore. The better question is whether or not people will really hold him accountable.

Cuomo like other Governors (Phil Murphy was another genius on this front), made the decision that nursing homes and adult care facilities should readmit people even after they had been diagnosed with Covid 19. Essentially this was like putting a time bomb among a vulnerable population. You have a virus which is well known for the ease at which it spreads and you have a population of people who have shown to be the most vulnerable to succumbing to this virus (people over the age of 55 with underlying health conditions) so what does this genius do?

He sends them back into these facilities.

Face facts people, if Cuomo were a Republican people would be trotting out the Mussolini trope already.

Cuomo is emblematic of the one disturbing trend that is prevalent in our political elite and that is the inability to admit bad decisions and to take responsibility for them. Cuomo’s stewardship has seen New York state being Covid 19 central throughout the glory days of the pandemic including his idiotic move to send ticking time bombs in the form of infected Covid patients back into vulnerable communities in nursing homes and adult care facilities, a decision he has yet to take responsibility for.

It doesn’t stop a host of idiotic Democrats from turning their gaze to the clown and eyeing him lovingly as their great leader. Hell, these are the same people who actually gave the dope an Emmy award when the  truth of it was Cuomo did daily briefings because HE LOVED THE ATTENTION!

Look, if you can’t deal with things honestly because of your political bias then you have no business complaining when others do the same.

As I write this two things are making me chuckle... Joe Biden is realizing that Trump had it right with illegal immigration and that Biden’s talk up through the election means that there will be a wave of illegal immigrants appearing at the Southern border gaming the system once more because they see that enforcement of immigration laws is going to be lax.

Biden is suddenly realizing Trump may have had it right and is now talking about ‘gradually’ enacting reforms (that would be because the current President took steps that worked in quelling illegal immigration).

The other thing is watching people talk about the rollout of the vaccine without giving ANY credit to the Trump Administration. In this I can certainly understand what the President must feel like, vilified for four years, confronted with one of the biggest challenges to face a President in a century and he came through EXACTLY the way he promised.

Folks, if you’re thinking Biden is going to be doing that for you, you’re just kidding yourselves.
